As we prepare to release the Moochkin's Metarun endless runner game, the first SOURCE PROTOCOL halving draws near. October 13th will be the one year anniversary of the SOURCE PROTOCOL main-net. Stake rewards will be cut in half and the inflation rate of tokens will reduce from 40% to 20%. For the full inflation schedule see the SOURCE PROTOCOL documentation and look under "tokenomics".
As we continue to progress through the year and into 2025 there will again be another halving after which inflation goes from 20% to 10% and then reduces by 1% for every year that passes up to 12 years when max supply will be reached around just over 1.043 billion SOURCE PROTOCOL tokens. Now and through 2025 is a great time to continue to accumulate tokens as more applications are launched on chain.
We are still working with our marketing team on coordinating the best timing with the market and the release of the Metarun game. We want the timing to be as optimal with the market sentiment as possible and we also want to push a respectable budget into promoting and marketing the game as well. Thanks to everyone who has been patient with us to this point. The wait will soon come to an end. After receiving some significant community feedback we have also decided to continue and revert back to providing weekly updates on Fridays.
